ABSENT INTERFACES

Absent Interfaces is an international project seeking to facilitate creation of new artworks that demonstrate the following two content principles: (1) are based on relations between live performance and new media technologies; and (2) are critically engaged with the modes of their own production. From 14-18 October 2008, L’animal a l’esquena (http://lanimal.org) organizes an international Seminar in collaboration with Scott deLahunta and the artistic teams of Absent Interfaces: Deepblue (Brussels), Bodig (Istanbul), CDU (Zagreb), Kònic Thtr (Barcelona). The aim is an encounter with new information from a discipline that might inform and/ or interfere, stimulate and/ or confront the artists practice, and should fit inside the research frame and process of Absent Interfaces.

BÒLIT. Contemporary Art Center. Girona

Beyond of the construction of a building, to create a Contemporary Art Centre implies in a first term the construction of a speech, relations and dialogues. That's the reason why we're starting the programme of the new Centre as an exhibition that requires to put the accent on the processes which explore new methodologies for the articulation of narratives from its context.

NIU

It's a site specific project devised and realized by the architect Santiago Cirugeda and his studio Recetas Urbanas, consisting of an ephemeral architectural intervention located in the roof of la Sala de La Rambla. The construction will equip the Centre with the necessary temporary infrastructure to be able to realise activities directed to research and artistic interventions from a set of national and international artists that will be invited to work from and for Girona.
